And it wasn't for me.

Jimmy Choo, John Varvatos, Michael Kors, arguably Polo, Hilfiger, LaCoste, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein, Adidas, etc - are all on the lower tier of designer brands in cologne and fashion generally.

Not quite "English Laundry" level, but not Burberry/Valentino level, much less Dior/Chanel level.

SOTD(s)-Absolu Aventus

Been wearing this the past few days and I'm genuinely in love with this. Just a year around banger and the added spice really makes it work in the fall/winter but the bergamot and grapefruit in the opening also makes it versatile enough to wear any time of the year (maybe not extreme heat). They are not the same at all (scent profile or strength ) but it puts me in the mindset of Angel Share on The Rocks (different) which can also be worn year around.
Just about out of my decant and might have to bite the bullet on a full bottle.

D&G - The One Parfum - Smells like a better The One. Like no changes in terms of scent, but seemingly more projection and longevity. So if you already like the one, this is just that, but better. I'm definitely a bit dissappointed - I was hoping for this "tobacco" frag to actually have some noticeable tobacco - it, like the EDP - does not. But that's why we buy decants and not full bottles. Will give this joint some more wears

Rating - 3-5 mls.

Creed - Oud Zarian - About 20 minutes into this joint - My girl Cecile did Royal Tobacco - which is a HEAVY tobacco/incense/spice fragrance - not much like it imo....except for now. This strong spice/incense vibe + licorice that floats in here or there. I need to do a side by side with this and RT, but this is very Amouage-y and not very Creed-y. But as of this moment, a lot more "wearable" than Royal Tobacco. Wearable in the sense that Amouage power has been taken down from 10 to about a 6-7.

The scent alone is like 5mls and better
But the scent + power and projection - I'm not rocking this more than a few times a year.

But these are my initial impressions of both. With BDC Exclusif - I wear it one day....and then want to wear it again. That is the real test. It's not enough that it smells fantastic, but do I want to rock it consecutively.

Update - 1 hour later - Dat Oud is coming out. - This is a very well constructed fragrance, 3 distinct scents as the top notes evaporate first, the middle notes bounce second, and the base takes over...

On vacay. Copped Green Savage at Zara. Light, warm weather fragrance. Kind of reminds me of Dior Sauvage/ YSL Y. I received a compliment damn near immediately.

What I get - the sulphur of a burnt match. Sometimes burning smells good, sometimes it doesn't. This one doesn't.

I have 2mls, but this is straight dabber status. Might wear this again sometimes next year, because I forgot what it smells like, or think it might have developed with exposure to air.

Swiss Arabian Essence of Casablanca, this leans feminine but i'm digging it. Real smooth blended real good. Fruity profile

City Rhythm Manhattan Midnight, I'm thinking this house isn't for me. I don't smell the tea [yet] but that pepper and frankincense stands out and not in a good way.
