I told a friend of mine about L’Exclusif and his comment was that he already considers the EDP/Parfum to be a 10/10 for him personally. So he isn’t sure he’s gonna go for it.
Obviously everyone is different.
Like if you already love Sauvage, there might not be a compelling reason to spring for Elixir.
My guess is people who already have BDC might not commit to L’Exclusif for that reason. Especially since it’s pricey. If this dropped at $150 or whatever, people might be more inclined to cop.
Just my theory.
But since I don’t have BDC anymore, I was happy to order a bottle of this new fragrance.
And if it turns out it’s not for me I’ll just exchange it for the Parfum.

Much like sauvage, regular, and sauvage elixir, this new BDC doesn't smell anything like the EDT or the EDP.
If you own the parfum version, I think you could skip this, but if you're the sort of person that has the EDT, EDP, parfum version, you can't skip this because you're a fragrance addict.

This dropped today at Macys… I haven’t had a chance to hit Macy’s up… any brehs got this?
WIA sampled it but didn’t seem to love it.
That means it’s either something that’s a bit complex and needs more wear time to form an opinion….or it’s so particular that it might not be worth investing in a full bottle.
Hit up macys to sample. Or hope that decants for it pop up soon online.

Rookies - to me, it's a lot better than the parfum version, but objectively it's a lot like the parfum version. It's got a little bit more woods, a little bit of leather, and less citrus.
Mightnot be worth the extra $50 to $70 that you're going to pay.
If you go check this out at Macy's, try this and Parfum at the same time.
Veterans and collectors - solid release, not really groundbreaking. Definitely will be the hypebeast of 2025 for sure. It's not nearly as exciting as Savauge elixir was when it came out.
Longer review
There are worse ways to spend $200 bucks...
The scent - if you know the regular Bleu de Chanel - either the edt or EDP, it doesn't smell like that.
There is a little bit of citrus, but not the blast you normally get with the line and most blue fragrances.
Exclusif smells like the Parfum, but more woods and amber and leather. The leather is most definitely there, but it's not a strong leather.
I didn't like the Parfum (it makes me nauseous), but I can get with this.
(And for $200, I better get with it. It's like buying a CD back in the day, you kept listening to it, until you liked it)
I can't call it on projection or sillage, but longevity is pet mode, not beast mode. I'm getting maybe 2-3 hours, and most of the time it's Skin scent.
This could work year round, but definitely the tail end of summer, through fall, through winter, through spring. Might be a little too Much on a super hot day in the middle of a crowded train.
To me, if I was still suited and booted, and going into the office, this would be perfect with a crisp white dress shirt, navy blue, Italian silk tie, single vested, two button, charcoal suit, and something Italian on the feets.
All that said
Don't be like me, rushing out to get it on day one. (I'm justifying it as a birthday cologne gift to myself)
Overall, it's a good designer fragrance, but if you're as deep in the cologne game as I am, this was a solid release but not a must have. Vets probably have something close to this, or they got enough on the shelf to layer their way into how this smells.
For the rookies out there reading, EDP or EDT, and maybe Parfum or Exclusif. I think the parfum is like 50 bucks cheaper, and if you like both scents, I'd save the money.
I don't like the parfum, so this was a decent cop for me.
I might change my mind by next week. I'm overall satisfied, but I am not ecstatic like I was with Royal tobacco, tobacco Vanille, L'Immensite, or any of the other fragrances. I'm always hyping up in this thread.

Except for that time I bought Gang Starr’s Moment of Truth, which I hated. I dunno man. I just couldn’t get into it.
But You Know My Steez is forever a banger and I played that on repeat judiciously.
the smoke in it is weird and random akin to adding a chicken wing to a fruit smoothie. i love the parfum but this one is off to me. its my sotd from a sample im having a hard time with it. opted out of a bottle

Good problem to have. 2 Benjis is a good amount of decants, or one really good designer/niche.
I tried that new Prada while I was there. Decent green scent, I think that recent JPG is a bit nicer though.
