Obama was a typical Democratic politician. He was better than the last half-dozen presidents before him, but that's grading on a really low scale. He didn't do much at all to change the direction of the country.
That being said, anyone who thinks "this country is in ruins" needs to get off the fukking cable news. Life is better than its ever been for the vast majority of the people in America. If you believe otherwise, it's either because you:
a) Watch too much sensationalist news
b) Are a pawn of right-wing media
c) Care too much about people making more than you
d) Have just become fukking weak because life has gotten so easy
Seriously, the generation before us and the generation before them and every single fukking generation before that in our nation's history had to deal with more shyt than we'll ever have to deal with. You would think that we had another Depression and ISIS personally cut your homeboy's head off or something. The only difference is that today politicians/media have developed the shrillest voices possible to catch the most ears and advertising dollars possible, and some of ya'all actually listen to that shyt.
If anything really fukked up ever happens to this country, it's going to be because of massive environmental destruction, massive militarism, or full-on anti-poor people warfare.....all three of which are being exacerbated every day by the hopes and goals of the "this country is in ruins!" crowd.
We've had how many quarters of steady growth? Gas prices are under $2 and unemployment is under 5%.
Another blame Obama thread. I swear some of you posters think Obama is magician who can solve the black community's with the wave of a wand. He was a very good president who lowered the unemployment rate from 13% to 4%. Implemented universal health care for everyone, killed Osama Bin Laden (the man responsible for 9/11) and got us out of that mess known as the Iraqi war.
