I used to feel the same way...a pass there isn't that bad.

But it's the pass they called. Play Action, OK. Fade route, OK.

But to line up in a passing formation and throw a slant is horrendous. One yard away from a Super Bowl victory, the only pass you can throw is one in which only your guy has a shot to even touch the ball. An inside slant could've been picked or even batted up in the air. Far too risky in that situation
