The 90s was really great for jams. Seems like all the DJs I was grooving to knew what to play. Never had an issue with a DJ playing wack shyt. Party would be OVER. Cause then we were actually dancing, not just standing around looking hard.

You could smoke indoors for the better part of the 90s.. so most places smelled like cigs and weed.

My teenage years summed up. Add Old English and well...

:pachaha:

Shot out to Lees liquor store in the Town, never got carded ever, despite being way under 21.

Ok, when I was in Baltimore from 85-88, I use to hate and I mean hate Go-go. Everyone loved that, but I could not really understand why.

What it smelled like back then was cologne, perfume, sometimes body odor, or cologne that has gone bad in smell because of body odor. We danced pretty hard back then, so we got sweaty and freaky with the girls. Just look at some of those videos from the Caribbean these days to see how Black Americans got down in the 80s. At least over there, Black people are still dancing with each other.

We were far more active in the clubs. home parties, parties in the park, etc. than I have seen happening these days with everyone standing around taking pictures of themselves and talking to no-one. It was a very good time to be Young, Black, and Gifted.

CHICAGO
oh I hated when this came on in the club

As a bboy in chicago.

You hated to hear this.
or any thing associated with being house.
You could smoke indoors in public and i miss what that made parties into.
As far as visual and smell.
As night life in america was solely created from tobacco. then liquor enhanced nightlife in prohibition. Leading into chicago being completely segregated moving forward.
as far as night life.
subculture to subculture back then.
In hiphop culrure based parties. We had complete escape from house in a hiphop culture environment. In chicago that created house at the wherehouse parties. I also snuck into as a kid too. Which were ultra weird to me and why i distinctly never drew with house culturally as well.
Things were completely segregated and bboys in Chicago fought for our independence from house in chicago.

to compare it to the culturally misappropriated free for all of the current day.
Night life in america has also become because of no smoking indoors.
Which Has killed american nightlife.
Coupled with death knell misappropriation of any real genre or subculture
This new clean air club shyt is huff.
All the females in the club are sally got a one track mind. When back in the day, there actually were virtue based bgirls with culture who did not do extras at all whatsoever. In the actual club and a potential real virtue committment based relationship.
with no bullshyt was attainable back in the day.
You gotta go to some burlesque shake dance. meets all out brothel to be able to smoke indoors now. Plus you mixed in with everyone being house ducks but thinking they are hip-hop. or some derivative of sellout style rap now with that too. So it is like some post apocalypse survivor movie now.
in terms of now and then. shyt is basically rnb slash hip-house in a box.
meets white people's misappropriated idea.
Of what the prison industrial economy wanted us to be.
being black from the movie youngblood come to life now.

The prison industrial economy truly won and has a grip on everything....
to the point of no return.

Life in america has become the troll baased films they banned. Where the black boy blogs with a camera meets. That other banned movie where white people talk like they are hood and use black cliche hood slang.
It is all mic gerinom's real world.
by mtv's murray bunim and ellis now.
With no real way to correct it either.
