New Yawk where I’m from / Bahston where I’m at
True but who really can afford luxury clothing forreal? The amount of money one should make to actually be able to afford 1k jeans is way too much.

I’ve copped fear of god jeans and amiri sweats for around that, but that’s just me / my situation. If you want the designer looks, focus on brands that have that style but not the price point - APC, John Elliott, Fear of God Essentials have good basics for reasonable prices. Splurge on things that will last seasons (years ago bought moncler bubble vest, Barbour international jacket, low key red bottoms, all lasted years).

how can you afford to buy luxury drip?

I'm looking to improve my wardrobe, as I have realized that when it's time to dress up I don't have many quality pieces. I'm thinking about buying pieces from luxury consignments stores like TheRealReal, discount stores like Saks off 5th and Nordstrom Rack, gems from places like Marshall's etc.

I think I'd like to invest in my jeans more, I've found Balmain jeans in the $250 range so I think that would be a good start. There are also a vast array of designer suits and shoes like Louboutin Spikes on these consignments sites.

Any suggestions to attack this as far as responsibly improving the quality of my wardrobe?

You can afford it by using the disposable income from your investments/business

Invest in making more money....forget cosignment

I haven't bought luxury anything in over 4 years except 2 suits and a watch but I
was never a fashion head so there's that

the internet
it sounds like youre trying to buy fashion labels (Gucci, LV, Balmain, etc..).
Not really my bag...but I only wear high end clothes...so I can give you some tips on how to do it for cheap.

You have the right idea by going to consignment stores....probably get the best bang for the buck there.

Its best to shop for this stuff in person so that you can get an idea on sizing, how it looks and feels, and what you actually like.
Then you can move to buying stuff online.

Online is where the real deals are.

I suggest you NOT spend much on your first couple of buys...keep it simple...because after you start doing research on clothes and learning about what makes them quality youre going to change your aesthetic...and you wont even like the shyt you bought at first.

IMO the best labels for men are not the fashion labels everybody know.
People are attracted to the big names because they have spent tons of money on establishing a aura....plus, most people that wear the big name fashion labels only do it to impress others...they dont know shyt about the history or quality of the shyt they're buying.
...once you really get into the clothing game you'll see where your money should go.

Check out this forum...look around and get fit ideas
Streetwear and Denim

They have a really good classic menswear forum if youre looking to learn about dress clothes.

Most men nowadays look a fukin mess...and cant dress a lick.
Either they gave up totally...or look like some hypebeast teenager (a lot of NBA players).

OP needs to rethink his idea of "luxury." Stop chasing trends, which is what many of these "luxury" brands produce, and purchase quality clothing from respected brands that give you clean and immaculately constructed apparel that doesn't draw attention. Balmain is :trash: You want some nice jeans? Get some APCs or Baldwins or 3sixteens. You want a nice shirt? Grab Brooks Brothers. Sweatshirts? J Crew has some of the best sweatshirts you can find anywhere, quiet as it's kept. A lot of these "luxury" brands that rappers mention are terrible and strictly made for classless culture vultures. Brehs with class don't fukk with that shyt.

Great post. This guy gets it. Look into RRL or denim as well. Balmains are honestly a little played out. I would look into Stone Island, Saint Laurent (if you can find discounts on it)

I have decent amount of luxury items (Gucci, Balenciagas, Giuseppe, Louboutins, Givenchy, Versace)

Once certain items go out of style, they go out of style hard... so ask yourself why you are buying them.. are you buying them to complete an outfit for a vacation in Vegas or Miami and be prepared to only be in style for half a year at best after that?

Out of the shyt I have, I really only wear the black on black or near enough of it anymore long term.. Example my black on black Louboutins are timeless... something that has no designs on it and goes with most new outfits.. if budgeting is your issue, I wouldnt recommend buying any high end shyt.. especially since if im buying something its not consignment its straight from the store :whew: but if you absolutely have to buy something, id recommend something that will not go out of style anytime soon... as in something that has no designs on it but still stands out

I make hundreds of thousands a year and even then I try to limit myself to 1-2 purchases a year(usually shoes that are $750-1500 :snoop:) and usually for a big weekend like memorial weekend in vegas or some shyt.. if you make lets say $50k a year before taxes and you wanna buy 100% real luxury shyt... its expensive man.. louboutins alone be $1000 - $1500 :pachaha: at $50k a year that would be 3% of your whole yearly income on just 1 item.. as I get older thats how I start viewing buying shyt.. 3% of your entire year income on 1 pair of shoes is more than likely never needed (I dont know your income im just using the average income)

edit: Also remember when buying nice shyt, they still get stepped on or shyt spilled on them, one time I flew to vegas for super bowl night and didnt bring a shirt so I bought a $300 versace white shirt that was a season old in the discount part of the store (new style versace shirts are usually $700+ :whew:) and went to Drais... some girl spilled Cranberry on it no more than 2 hours later in the club :damn:

shyt being expensive dont make it immune to your drunk or other people drunk antics

Grailed, vintage stores (both high end and Goodwill type places, you can find good shyt if you dig hard enough), farfetch and yoox for the constant sales, the bigger online retailers like mrporter when they have big sales.

I have a lot of quality high end pieces in my wardrobe and I've never paid retail on any of it, I don't have it like that.

I need some nice dress boots or black loafers though and almost everything is out of my price range and it's harder to find good deals on all that
