So Indy is going to get swept by Tampa bay and Jacksonville, en route to going 2-7 the rest of the year.

Huh?

Miami won the Division in 2008 and NYJ have been to the playoffs a few times since then as well.

As for the AFC South being horrible, there is no doubt but it isn't that much different than Carolina winning the NFC South last year with only 7 WINS!!!
As in cumulative each of them are below .500 since 2000. That's NFC west in the 1980's and 90's status. The Rams, Falcons, Saints, maybe the cardinals :scust:

ahh...gotcha.

Patriots have had a fairly easy go. but the East has still been overall more productive than the other three divisions in the conference
AFC North has pretty much been only a two team race as well
AFC South only seems to have one team competing each year
AFC West is the same as the north, always having at least terrible teams.

I never cared for divisions and Division winners.

To me it should be like this: No matter what division you're in, you get slotted for the playoffs based on your record, period. Idf there is a tie, then you look at head to head and divisional record. But even then i feel like you should get more for out-of-division wins and out-of-conference wins because you'r eplaying teams you dont see often. That should mean more than the ones you play all the time.

The north is sometimes a 3 team race. Last year 3 teams went. 3 went in 2011, and always 2 seem to go. It's just the Browns that are bad.

The AFC South > The AFC North during Peyton's era. You question his legacy you're also questioning Tom Bradys.

Brady has a winning Record against everyone in the NFL. He's won everywhere.

Excluding playoffs where he's the winninghest QB of all time He's 61-16 in his Division

100-31 against everybody else. How is his legacy in question when he's won a 69% of the Games played out of his Division?

People always dragging Brady when Mannings legacy is questioned.

"To put Brady's feat in perspective, Peyton Manning has a losing record against five teams, including a 6-13 record against the Patriots (3-9 vs. Brady in the regular season). Then there's Brett Favre, who had a losing record against seven teams in his career."

No team in the NFL has a winning record against Tom Brady

You know the division hasn't always been this bad and the afc east hasn't got a team that's got a .500 record since 2000 right? Miami New York and buffalo are each below .500 over the course of the last 16 years.

Get the fukk out of here with this bullshyt. :camby:

The Jets and Titans have the exact same record since 2002 at 102-112, or a winning pct of 47.66%

After that:

3. Dolphins 44.86%
4. Texans 41.86%
5. Buffalo 41.4%
6. Jaguars 40.47%

AFC South has absolutely been worse than the East.

I'll leave this here, too:
In Defense of the AFC East

It's old, but it covers 2002-2013 and shows just how strong the AFC East has been over those 12 years. No need to run the numbers for the next ~1.5 years cuz the East (without the Pat's) won 46% of its games while the South (without the Colts) won just 28% of their games over that time period. :scust:

We sure about that:jbhmm:

Texans been ass forever, Titans fell off after McNair left, Jags were really up and down for the 00's they fell off too for a minute but I do remember them in the playoffs a couple of times
The AFC South's inaugural season was in 2002, during the 7 years Peyton was there Tennessee went:

2002: 11-5
2003: 12-4
2004: 5-11
2005: 4-12
2006: 8-8
2007: 10-6
2008: 13-3
2009: 8-8

That's only 2 seasons with a sub .500 record, 2 .500 seasons, and 4 seasons above .500
Jaguars:

2002: 6-10
2003: 5-11
2004: 9-7
2005: 12-4
2006: 8-8
2007: 11-5
2008: 5-11
2009: 7-9

4 seasons below .500, 1 .500, and 3 above .500

Houston was pretty trash for the most part, no need to post their numbers. But these numbers do show that the Colts did have a formidable opposition in their division they had to compete with almost every season except 2. The division back then is nothing compared to what it is now.
:dahell: hell naw nikka they were mediocre at best

You already know. I have to question how long some of you have been watching football. Pretty good teams have mediocre records from time to time. Some of you act as if you are new to the term "any given sunday"

this is true....as much shyt as people are giving the nfc east, the afc south is a worst division....there is normally 1 good team, and 2 other decent teams, but not this year, that shyt is just bad....
