Nowdays people with his condition usually have surgery to remove the tumor off their pituitary gland, which halts their growth and saves their life. That's the reason it's unlikely anyone will ever reach his height nowdays. Unfortunatly for him they didn't know what caused his growth at the time.

yup but most of the time they are already extremely tall before it gets removed and if the tumor occurs after they are adults it turns into acromegalia
