. You mean to tell me there is absolutely not ONE ape that has exhibited or exhibits signs of such a transformation, in this day and age. Not one ape in the wild that has clear traits of going through the process of turning human. No obvious changes in DNA. Nothing.

That's not how evolution works, for one it takes thousands of years so naw we wouldn't observe any of those traits in the last 250 yrs that we've known about the process
And species with a common ancestor don't converge to eventually become the same thing, crocodiles have been the same for like 100 million years. Adaptations usually occur for a reason , not just because time has passed

I doubt the earth’s gravity has changed in any significant way since the formation of the moon

Its not something I've looked into but it was the first thing that popped into my mind back when.

Something had to have shifted between then and now because of their size and flight capabilities. Both would be quite tricky with our current specs but less gravity and a different atmosphere makes it feasible but that opens up another conundrum.
