Too much weed smoking in LA, makes you paranoid. The cops try to stop you for a broken tail light, you freak out and mash the gas. Just my two cents.

The other point is that draconian three-strikes laws mean that if many of these dudes running get caught they are going away for a long time.

They’ve changed the 3 strikes law a bit. It’s now only for violent/serious felonies. But I’d expect that doesn’t really make a difference to someone willing to crash out in a high speed pursuit.

I think he made that left turn right after the underpass, but didn't have his lights on then got on the freeway.
