4 years right after high school ? Join the Air Force or Navy and learn a transferable career. Take classes during those 4 years and possibly complete a degree before leaving or be damn close . Get out and eat with experience and college already done (or close to it ). You can have a house and your Charger already paid off by the time you 24.
If he goes to college first he'll go in as an Officer not Enlisted. The enlisted get treated like kids

CDL is good but you have skills that aren't transferable. If you lose your license or can't drive anymore you are fukked.

It depends on the person, but overall college if the person is smart/motivated enough to finish. It has the highest ceiling.

But I won't pretend everybody is cut out for college, some people are almost guaranteed to drop out and would be better off not wasting money.

College and CDL are both solid options. Try to go the officer route for military.

Whatever you do work as soon as you can. Even if you stocking shelves at a department store they usually have options to move up to management for college students which you can always use as a backup career

4 Years of the Military.

You'll be way more focus and have more direction in life. Excel in college.

Get all the girls because you're mature and have a whip/crib.

They'll pay for your degree + housing money.

You'll already have experience and probably a few certs like me. Probably get offered 100k fresh out the military. Connections that will last a life time all over the world.

And if you can get a Top Secret Clearance. :blessed:

I don't have no degree, just a few certs (nothing major) I've been making 100k+ almost every year since 2010.

Yea, I think that’s more if you want to make a career out of the military . If you just trying to build a foundation then enlisted is the way to go.

Pros for Military right after high school- money in your pocket , gain valuable technical experience (Air Force and Navy ),you are pushed to complete education. You can literally do whatever education at your desk at work in alot of shops. fukk bad bytches, have a nice car and travel

Cons- Away from childhood fam and friends, the military structure ain’t for you, forced to workout , miss out on normal college experience( even though you can still participate from an outsider view) .

It was a no brainer for me . Just don’t get caught up with no shytty women(easier said than done )

Unless you doing something math or chemistry intensive, college isnt a good bet.

If you arent inspired by the STEM proffesions then cdl is the quickest, most efficient path. You can easily be make $100k+ Within 3yrs, maybe even be halfway to owning your own rig by that fourth year. You'd certainly be further ahead in life than your college counterparts, outside of those software degrees and the petroleum engineers.

College is too wide a net. What's the major? How much debt?

CDL is more of a sure thing.
Tech would probably be better, but you'd have to be driven.

Lots of big companies look to hire military officer because of the leadership skills they already have. I know a few officers that got out and went straight to 6 figure position. Saying you were an 03 os a lot better than saying you were and e4/e5. Plus if you like the military and decide yo stay in the pay is substantially better for officers

Your not wrong , being an officer is a lot better than enlisted .I’m just saying that in terms of the topic of the thread, what you are proposing is more of an 8 year plan. Your are looking at the age 26,27,28 before you get out of the military . And odds are, your not making O3 in 4 years , I’m not sure if it’s even possible with time in grade .
