I gave it a watch on Netflix, and by the 2nd episode I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Am I not getting something? When does it get good? :ld:

It's really hard to describe what's great about it; after a while you just become so engrossed in the characters and how they develop that you get completely hooked on the show.

I remember when I started it back in June I spent the first 4-5 ep's like :what:, but I kept pushing through S1 and somewhere in the middle of the season something just clicked and I ended up burning through all 6 seasons in a month and a half.

It aint for everybody though. The whole show's kind of a slow burn; it focuses more on the gradual change and evolution of the characters rather than dramatic events and tension buildup. I love it but I can definitely see see why another person would find Mad Men boring or uninteresting. Run through about three more episodes and if you still don't like it then maybe it's just not for you :manny:

:mindblown: after 2 eps?

Mad Men takes a while to get into it and by the end of season 2, it's well worth it. Then you get to where we are now and all that slow paced shyt at the beginning is well worth sitting through. It all adds to the back story of each character.

Top 5 :wow:

this thread gets made every couple of months. The stans feels it has the best writing, setting, and character development of any show on tv. I watched 6 eps and thought it was boring as fukk :snooze:
If you havent done so already check out breaking bad for a show that has great writing and character development and is actually exciting

Had me :wow: at the end of the first episode.

If you're not liking it by the end of the 2nd ep, it's not for you :smugdraper:

Cool, thanks....I'll give it a few more eps when I get time.

One thing I do like is the setting. The time frame the show is set in, the wardrobes, etc.

Give it until the end of season 2, then you've had a fair crack at it. That might seem like a struggle from where you're at but by that point you should be :gladbron: :blessed:

Yeah, the show is definitely a slow burn. The show has no solid interest in season long arcs, and is far more interested in multi-season character arcs. The lack of "event" episodes (bringing about the complaints if nothing happening by people who don't like it) is paying off over these last three seasons, as more character arcs are approaching their climaxes. The first season does a LOT of building in the first few episodes, but gets really good by the end, as it starts progressing the characters. Catch up now, breh, because this final season is shaping up to be :wow: status
