What is the best solution Rec Roomers?
I was about to leave my cable company a couple of days ago and they finally tried to work with a nikka
But I'm still not feeling $150 for triple play. I figure I dump cable, then I'll probably only be paying like $60 or less a month for Internet/Phone? Sounds like a Don't mean to brag scenario for real :whew:

there's really nothing unique about the tech that separates it from traditional antennas. you could use a coat-hanger, and the 'best' one is probably gonna be some big thing that goes on your roof

ultimately it's gonna depend on how far you are from the signal

yeah the best bet is probably a rotary antenna you hook up to the side of your house or the roof if you want to pick up a lot of channels. i have an indoor antenna and i can only pick up local channels.

Thats how things used to work, friend. But you ain't using no coat hanger in 2013 bruh bruh.
And from my research so far, the best antenna is basically the size of a piece of paper. The power depends on the amplifier that device uses. The amplifier looks like the the piece you'd connect your NES to the TV with.
Supposedly RCA's amplifier is the strongest. So if you can mix and match? :win:

But this info I'm spittin isn't finalized yet (More research is needed by me)

you can still use a coat-hanger. the important piece is the converter box

there's some pretty futuristic looking thin joints, that probably do pretty well for their size, as well as being easy on the eye. but you can see here the ones with the highest range aren't so pretty

if you live in or near a major city (or wherever the signal's coming from), you'll probably be fine with one of those indoor joints

I'm trying to see what is the best option for my mother. She only watches 2 channels basically
Her religious station and Retroplex/Retro channel where she can catch shows like Matlock or Some old detective type shows.
If there is an antena that can give her that? Life would be good :win:

it all depends on various factors. I would just try whatever cheapo antenna first, and then move up if that doesn't work. maybe see if any neighbors have gone that route, and see what they're using. it comes down to how well you can get the signal where you're at

I'm close to DC, I'm sure we get great signals out here. I peeped one review on youtube and I guess it was a local lady because she was talking about how all the Baltimore channels even come in. Baltimore and DC have different channels and standards. Baltimore would show Springer episodes that were less censored than DC channels would allow.
DC = PC
Balt = Hood

Do they have free religious channels over the air?

good shyt. that site tells you what's available in your area, and where the towers are
yeah, but did you see the channels? I got 10 PBS channels, half the channels are repeated twice (not HD then SD, but the same SD version twice :sadcam: )

I was really leaning towards this, but that lineup is atrocious. I'd say this is not accurate or not the best. Because my uncle has one of these things (not sure the brand) but he has way more channels than this is offering. He gets stuff like ABC Family and a couple of other stations I thought was cable only.

I'll drop more info when I'm done researching. which I'm not about to continue this moment. Tomorrow I will...
