everytime I think about coppin one I'm like "Why?"

I came real close to gettin an iPad and its a quality product but I dont see the point. My friends all have one and use it for web browsing and watching movies. I'd rather get a slim laptop for that. because $500+ for something to watch movies on and play games seems silly

am I missing something?​

I don't know what's the point of a tablet. I have people look at me crazy because I'm a cable/computer technician and I prefer to stick with a smartphone and laptop and don't have any desire for a tablet. I'm simple guy. I don't like to have a bunch of devices. It is pointless now to get one if you have the latest smartphone that has a quad processors and more than 1gb of RAM and possesses 32 gb of storage.

All technology has that phase when it just comes out, there's not enough features to match the price, and basically companies off the hype.
This was the same thing I went through when every other person had a Sidekick. I was thinking :skeptical:. yeah, there's the keyboard and interface, but I can do the same exact thing on yours as my flip phone at the time...

i feel it's for people who've bought into the whole concept that everything has to be portable and smaller...i just rather use my laptop at home and if i'm out, i can use my phone.

I agree a tablet should not be a $500 device. Ipads are overprice for what you get, but the market does support it. A tablet is mainly a media consumption device and nothing beats for it portability and battery life. Try a Nexus 7 or Dell venue pro 8 both can be had for less than $250 each.

I use mine as media devices(miracast/chromecast)to stream to my tv and surf the net mostly

Honestly I haven't touched my laptop in almost a year

Now that they got those tablets with full windows 8.1 you really don't even need a laptop anymore

laptops can do everything, but laptops are still a little bit restrictive when compared to a tablet. especially if you have a battery that not worth a shyt

when youre talking just reading a book/magazine...throwing together ideas...quick burst gaming. its more accessible

as far as phones, tablets have more real estate with the same portability

all in all they are just for people that want them in the first place. theyre not needed
