@Big Boss
Another thing brotha that I wanted to say is that Jim Brown really hasn't changed his message since the 60s. He viewpoints were closer to NOI than MLK.
Even as recently as two year ago I believe he mentioned how he respected MLK but didn't agree with his views.
He felt that integration wasn't the way and the real way to freedom was to fight for equal rights (which MLK was doing) but refuse integration. He felt all that was good for was begging whites for handouts and help. When we as black folks could protect ourselves and employ ourselves if we worked together.
Jim also mentioned why be nonviolent to white people who are violent against you. If you don't have guns to fight them why be around them. Separate yourself from them. If you work for them take your money with other blacks and pull your money together to fix your neighborhoods, create jobs and then hire your own police to patrol your communicaties. Cause white folks have never shown that they will let you get an equal piece of the pie.
This is actually been the NOI moto for decades and Jim been saying this since the 60s.
Now when Jim has done the few interviews that I have seen this year..... he isn't mentioning that last part after the clean up your neighborhoods. This makes me think he is getting muzzled or something bigger is going on.
Because we can look at interviews from last year and he is basically saying the same pro black shyt above and even more. Even the the multiple bull shyt town hall meeting on ESPN Jim Brown has said the same thing over and over verbatim. Most of the time pissing off the black athletes cause he is telling them fukk your brand help out black folks. Him and Lisa Lesley got into it one time on live air over this same shyt.
So is it because someone is telling him to leave out the rest of his message? He has mentioned that he been on the FBI watch list since the 60s when he was trying to get black entertainers to invest in black neighborhoods, black businesses and ex black gang members.
Is he just doing this to stay in good with the browns organization? In the 2000s they basically casted him aside. At one time they were giving over 100k in donations to his anti gang organization. Then suddenly stopped and basically stopped dealing with Jim. But it seems that ownership is back to dealing with him now.
Let's not also forget that the California government cut funding as well to his not for profit. Jim ended up calling out Arnold Schwarzenegger and saying this was done because Jim's organization had been making great progress for over 20 years preventing black men and Latin men from being part of the school to prison pipeline.
Last I will never take away from what Jim did to fight gang violence in the streets especially in the 80s when that shyt in places like LA make the shyt in Chicago today look like a walk in the park. That dude would invite bloods and crips to his house to get dudes to talk shyt out and call a truce. shyt most folks won't even invite a homeless person to their house.
But we got a dude bringing cold blooded killers and street dudes to his house to get them to call a truce and stop killing folks in the streets. That some deep shyt.
