I got family with both names:russ:

It's common, along with a whole lot of other lil names that folks my pretend are racial stereotypes, but anyone with a black family and black friends have heard at least one of these names.

Grew up with two kids nicknamed Dee-dee and Nuk-nuk.

I have a dee-dee in the fam but never met a person with these other nick names

That's fine. One of my closest family members goes by Pookie , and while not ray ray, I have an uncle Ron who was a track athlete named "Running Ronnie". Story is his sisters kid couldn't say "running Ron" and called him Ron Ron and it stuck.:russ:

Only "black" name I've never run into is Treyvethian :mjlol:but I've seen many similar names.

Pretty much this even though I've never known a pookie. Knew a couple of ray Ray's though.

Peanut was the aunt on my Mothers side cause she was smaller than everyone else in the family:russ:

Since we’re talking about common nicknames, I know a gang of Zays, Nickis, Reds, and Shays. :russ:
Great grandmother (Rip) had Red hair and they called her Red, and my sister goes by Shay.

Next you gonna be talking about the black furniture with the gold trim that we had:mjlol:
