Brehs, where does Andre Johnson rank all-time in WR history?

So I was browsing the all-time receiving yards leaders in NFL history, when I come across Andre Johnson, who currently sits at 12th all-time with 13,597 yards.

Johnson, who turns 34 years old on July 11, signed a 3-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason.
If he manages to gain 2,000 more yards receiving during the course of the contract (quite possible with Andrew Luck airing it out), he'll likely retire in 3rd place behind Terrell Owens and Jerry Rice.

It may sound strange putting Johnson's name up there with Rice and Owens and Moss, but maybe it's time to consider it. Just how good is Andre Johnson?



The HUGE knock on Johnson is that he's not even close to being among the top Touchdown receivers. He's only got 64 (tied for 58th all-time).

He's in that first tier of guys under Moss/Owens of the modern era. That guy that played for the Colts was good but also reaped the benefits of playing with Peyton his whole career. I'm going to say he's top 10-15 all time.

His team fukked him up in the long run. He'll still get into the hall but he's rarely if ever talked about as one of the top receivers to ever do it based on his squads. He deserves at least top 10-15 consideration in my opinion though.

Looking at your list I wouldn't mind putting him over Reggie as a #1 receiver. I didn't see several of those other guys tho so I can't objectively put him over them
