Yeah out here in Jamaica I had friends and we all rolled together. We were zoned to the same Jr. High school, and since we were all from the same neighborhood we were all cool with each other. Unfortunately it was during the same time everybody wanted to be a crip; So all of us joined to be cool and popular you know? So after we joined, we did what crips do, we jumped people who annoyed us and played spades and Crazy eights during lunch. It wasn't until 8th grade when one of our boys James got his ass whopped so badly ( By bloods), that we decided  this ain't for us. Unfortunately some of them stayed in the set heavy; and the rest of us just bounced.

Fast forward our High school years and a decade after that. Me and my boy Jaquan ( Brooklyn college graduate), are the only one with college degrees and careers. Unfortunately we all didn't make it. I've lost three friends to murders, two are in jail, and the rest are just " Stuck in the hood". But I do want to give one of my guys (marcom) credit. He's trying to change his life now that He's having his first child. :yeshrug:

of course, the "hood" was created to systematically destroy minorities and make it seem like they only have themselves to blame for the conditions that they live in

You can already see how things will turn out before you even get to high school :mjcry:
I see "free my nikka ---" everytime I go on Facebook.
Been to two funerals of friends since summer last year.
Most of the girls have babies now.
The ones who made it out are either in the military (Marines) or in college.
One has a burgeoning rap career, and the rest are wandering around, in prison, or dead.

I know right! I mean in the hood you got white people running about killing black people for drugs, guns and gold chains
oh wait:stopitslime:

You can't blame everything on white supremacy when knuckle heads are running around murdering and stealing for petty BS:francis:

NYC
Moved out when I was 17 with parents, then left NYC when I was 18. I still fukked up my life though with self-destructive behaviors, ans had to come back to NY. Some of the things I learned about living from friends and neighbors was extremely ignorant, and I was misinformed by the misinformed.

It's a complicated living situation. Health is important for anyone to be successful, and it involves so much more than psychical health. Unfortunately, you just can't get all aspects in certain environments. Then there's the case of not caring or being motivated to be well. Yes, there's inequity, but most people in the hood don't care about themselves or others.

I'm gonna have to move back and I'm not looking forward to it. I like my middle class, hard working, healthy neighborhood.
