So do you remember when I said that I have a very Nigerian face? I remember going to a bar with some American friends and we went to go see his local friends. So one of the local guys arrives to the group and he gives everybody dap except me then he goes to his friends and ask who is this Nigerian guy in the local language (Twi). His friend then quickly tells him oh no that's not a Nigerian guy that's an american guy then he suddenly turns around and tries to give me dap. This is when I realized that contrary to the belief that all black people look the same that clearly isn't true. There was something about my face my height my complexion my stature and made him presume I was a Nigerian without even asking. It's certainly puts things in perspective.
Oh shyt didn't know this was you Kongo, I remember you were doing a long ass trip around Africa.

Did you get that warm feeling people talk about? Did you feel like you were finally home? Conversely…Did you have any wake-up call moments where you felt overwhelmed or out of place? How were you received by locals?
Here for the comments and nice thread.

You never updated the thread
No need now since being back in the Matrix for almost a year and a half. Since changing my name, I changed my legal documents including my passport. It's been a month since I sent it in so I'm still waiting. I really, really miss the Motherland but I need to finish school so I can eventually do remote work from there and live like an oga. I'm thinking of applying for me Nigeria visa. $140 for a two-year is not a bad option. My biggest issue is how relatively difficult obtaining Afrikan citizenship is. Like kneegrow really? :comeon:

Once I get my money correct, I'm doing the opposite of this thread. An African visiting all of Africa's diaspora, eating the food, enjoying the cultures etc. The only bad part about this is I'm from the East, so my focus should be in the middle east, but we all know what those Arabs did.
