Dope! How much of your free time did that take up? I know it sounds fukked up, I don’t wanna be married to work and volunteer groups
There are some things that are much more demanding than others. Anything directly involving kids? You can guarantee you'll be giving up a bit of time. Most places are generally flexible with their hours, but dealing with children is never something that I was personally able to cut short once I got familiar with a group. You give time you don't have to people in my experience. Just how it works.

If you want to keep your hours consistent, I'd suggest something that's not particularly personal. Helping with blood, food, clothing drives for example - those types of things usually have long term planning around bigger events so its easier to line your schedule up against them. Its a healthy start if you've already got other work hours you have to consider.

The company that I work for have brochures for a big brother program. They're always in the break room and I've been meaning to sign up when my life becomes less hectic... If your job has a website, maybe they have some organizations you can join.

I legit just went into my community center and asked where I could volunteer and they said "right here young man". First couple of weeks if was just helping them with summer school registration for kids and filing paper work but eventually you get to help with food drives and whatnot.

Spring is the time to get busy too. Just make sure your community isn't full to the brim with volunteers already.

it's popping but not for the reasons people think. a lot of community volunteer work revolves around children, and a lot of those extracurriculars are shared with schools through the winter and fall. spring is like pre-summer preparation. they need managers, camp leaders, and so on to help out before kids get off school.

Depends on what ur trying to do.....this small masjid round my way has a men's group that meets on Saturdays and they plan stuff for the community....been meaning to link up with them...or u could go to ur local shelter...throw fundraisers for things u see the community needs....or a simple convo with young dude u see lost and try to guide him...plenty of ways to give back....
