I think that fact that there would be completely opposite views on every issue in the household would drive someone crazy. Not that one party is better than the other. It would be like a super religious person and an aggresive coli athiest. No one really knows who is right, its just what you believe.

Surely it would depend on her reasoning for joining the republican party? The best way for a minority group to get respect and notice from the string pullers at the top, is to infiltrate both main parties I would have thought?Look at the gays and the powerbase they have these days? same with the feminist lobby. I really don't see the democrats as friendlier to african americans, they just see them the way the left always do , as a voting base, very cynical thinking.

I have no doubt there are racists in the republican party,but if you have social conservative beliefs, or believe in low taxes or a small state perhaps that party is more attractive to you than the democrats, and if this lady wants to join it ,because she has these true beliefs but also won't be a puppet like ex congressman allen west ( ie telling obama to get out of his country, comparing certain obama policies to slavery etc etc allowing himself to be used by racists to say things they could not get away with about obama ) I can only think it would be a good thing.

The democrats aren't perfect by any means on racial issues, remember what bill clinton said about obama when hillary was trying to get the top spot, something about obama would have been serving him drinks a few years back?And he and his wife refused to attack sarah palin back when she temporarily boosted mcain in a big way . I always thought there was something odd about that as well.

Anyway apart from her political choices,young attractive intelligent woman,who earns her own living and is ambitious, who wouldn't be interested ?
