above average, I can see the women eating this up

I will say the folks who say Brent is vastly better than Tiller, dont see it

tiller uses functional, modern production and is a way better rapper. i will say that brent stepped up his vocals on this song. bryson doesn't have a song as dynamic without sacrificing texture.

still a better song writer tho

I will say Tiller did step up his vocals on ANNIVERSARY, not sure your stance on that, as well as if we simply compare who utilized a Drake feature better, Outta Time >>

Im probably one of the biggest neptunes stan on here, but yeah lately their beats not been hitting.
Father time is undefeated :mjcry:
Hope they can turn it around. Had to double check the track listing of JT’s Man of the Woods album, cause their production on that was :francis:

I know they been working with Snoh Aalegra, and her album’s dropping relatively soon. If the Neptunes can bless me with a couple tracks that blow me away then I’ll be happy.

That being said, don’t really have a problem with the beat here. Sounds like it’s 2005. I’m not a huge fan of it but I can’t say it’s trash either.

i don't think he stepped up his vocals. always forever is plagued by bad mixing where he thinks he's utilizing some kind of range. it ends up sounding uncompressed. still cried super tears to that song :mjcry:

then he hops on a song with drake and lets drake expose his falsetto. and my nikka, we talmbout DRAAAKE.

i think brent heard that song and made sure his falsetto didn't get exposed. did so well that drake didn't even bother singing.

i like the song, but it just feels like a throwaway from 2007. ppl who was saying bobby v is spot on. makes sense since drake was singing his hook on wayne's tour.

but ANNIVERSARY is a classic. i remember my first listen. was expecting another dud from a talented artist, but them drums just jumped out at me. they go so hard.

r&b ain't suppose to slap like that. but its called anniversary for a reason. songwriting and arrangement is super on point for this album. one of my favorite releases in recent memory. this reminded me to make sure to put this in rotation at the beach next time i go :wow:

him and summer the only r&b acts i really rank like that atm.

Some joints were cool and sounded like the golden era but yeah. Even the last nerd album was underwhelming.
I dont have nothing against this beat either cause it sounds like an in my mind either but i dunno....i always expect greatness from them :mjcry:

Brent isn’t a rapper and hasn’t rapped since his first EP. After that it’s all just singing

not rapping (in pop and r&B) in 2021 is akin to putting out marvin gaye style music after 12 play (for new artists).

u will be seen strictly as a retro novelty act. no one will accuse you of being the voice of a generation :comeon:
