This is thr result of artificially high pricing in rent and mortgage.

People weren't paying over 40% of their monthly income on rent 20 years ago. Landlords had Their historical heyday, but that gotta come to an end.

We need $500 and $600 rents in safe areas in major cities and near major metropolitan areas again. Too few people hoard all of the money.

What's crazy is that there are a LOT of Airbnb units set up like this. These are usually the Airbnb's I skip over because I'm not trying to spend time in someone's guest house because I like privacy.

Does she never leave the property?
The squatter laws are fugazi in my city too and sometimes landlords change the locks, take the doors off the property and turn off all the utilities
I heard of people being paid to "break into" the property in the middle of the night to spook the squatter too . Basically make it unsafe and miserable for them to stay there

Like I said yesterday, turn off the utilities in that section of the house. If there is not shut off valve, I’m putting it in the next day.

This is really why I’m never keen on doing real estate as a business. There’s just too many scumbags out there who don’t have a conscience. To usurp someone else’s property just because they weren’t following the rules, is an offense worthy of the most severe punishment.
