:ooh: Bret bringing that heat and truth. About time someone with some clout brought Paul down a peg or two. He always liked to put himself up there with Austin and Rock and everyone kept hitting him with the :comeon: look. If Austin never got hurt and Rock decided to do movies, what the fukk would Triple H be doing? I mean, he did one thing right though. Because of him, HBK, Hall and Nash and the curtain call in MSG, we got the rise of Stone GOAT in 1996 and Paul got stuck doing hog pen matches, literally buried in pig shyt. Thanks Trips. I :salute: you for that.

I think there's a ton of ways to put on a great match. And you can definitely do it without innovative maneuvers or a technical style.

With that said, some guys just don't have the Melina Perez 'it' factor.

Still wondering if Bret smashed while Morrison was waiting to go shopping with her afterwards :lolbron:

It's worth noting that Bret had this to say in November:

The Attitude Era Star He Wishes He Could Have Worked With More:

“If I could go back in time, I would have loved to have done more with Triple H. He blossomed into a bigger star after I left.”

“I regret, looking back now, that we didn’t have more matches, or better matches or at least one pay-per-view match where we could have really showed our best stuff — or at least, I did. He’s a guy that he and I had some situation together, and I think it worked well on Monday Night Raw, but we never really had the chance to show what we could really do.”

The thing with HHH is that as a ring worker he is average at best but what made his matches in the early 2000's great was the storytelling being told in his matches. It's no coincidence that most of those great matches were gimmick matches. Those types of matches are better when they tell a good story.

Could say the same thing about Edge.

HHH must have been blunt about Tyson Kidd or Natty and word got back to Bret. Or something happened backstage at that Royal Rumble fanfest. I remember when the New Age Outlaws did that shoot on Triple H, they gave it to Bret just as bad. Maybe he saw them laughing about it

Yeah, definitely the same thing applies with Edge although in the early 2000's on SD he was a good worker.

Those matches he had with Angle, Guerrero, and Benoit. :lawd:

When he tag teamed with Mysterio as well. :ohlawd:

eh, i can agree to an extent
i feel like jbl and triple h played the classic heel role modernly well

triple h imo always felt like he was trying to play a powerhouse ric flair route, he has memorable moments and matches that are definately on my list of favorite BUT he's never, ever had a straight up classic outside of with maybe taker/hbk

only match i'd consider potentially being up their i'd have to say cactus jack vs trips hell in a cell which was unbiased piff

Yeah, something must have happened backstage at fanfest. There's no use arguing with this guy because his emotions are so fragile from the stroke. It's just another thing for HHH to shake his head at and move on.

Bret was an all time great ring worker but outside of his outrage over what happened to Owen, he is always been a bit of a clown. This is the same dude who spent years talking about getting screwed because they refused do some crazy out of the ordinary request for him on his way out of the E. He also was cool with the fact that his sisters were getting drugged and butt plunged. :heh: I love Bret as a wrestler but he is a bit off of is rocker outside of the ring.
