Now they zoom the camera in and out and shake it around so much it gets annoying

I seriously forgot how many times I've Favorited that Clip. Bret went IN, it Shook me up as a Kid, had me thinking it was just as Real as Shawn's Concussion. I was when he pushed Vince like that and I didn't even know he was The Owner.

u know this thread inspired me to watch a few bret promos from 97 and I gotta tell u, I am convinced that was the best he's ever been.

he was always just lil too soft to me as a babyface. You respected him but you never fully bought into his intensity. But in 97 he took it up another level. He finally had a swag and a confidence about him. This was a dude you believed could seriously fukk you up

and yes if he stuck around for mania 14 he would have been a MUCH better opponent for austin going in. He would have legitimized austin even more than Michales did.

There was some amazing stuff going down in 1997 in ECW, WCW, WWF and Japan... but Bret Hart stole the year...

The Austin classic at Wrestlemania which was one of the greatest matches ever.
Coming into his own in his heel Canadian character.
The Canadian Stampede classic 10 man tag.
The classic with Undertaker at Summerslam.
The amazing Survivor Series 97 match (up to the screw job).
Knocking out Vince for real.
