Bret walks up in the ring with this smug ass I'ma beat yo ass face and Stone Cold ain't having none of that and attacks Bret before the bell rings
I miss when matches felt real. When it really felt like these dudes HATED each other instead of feeling like a performance.
Also, ya'll gotta give credit. Bret Hart was the coolest wrestler. The shades, the colors, the jacket, as he walks down the ramp with that music blasting with that NO SNITCHIN mug.

Stop cryin' Bret" when this match happened. Looking on it now as an adult watching how EVERYONE turned on Bret when he was just telling it like it is and was defending his beliefs have me like

WWF and Coke Boy did a masterful job of spinning like Bret changed for the worst but really Bret was just being Bret and that's why he was always a hero... but Bret saw how the future was becoming violent and oversexed and didn't want to change with the times which led to his demise... that storytelling and flipping the scrip why can't we have that now?

So crisp, such a lost art now. When Bret connected you would hear and feel the power of those blows. I liked how he would hold their head to line it up too. The way Austin/HBK would sell them by hitting the mat
not to mention Bret's selling of the stunner... legit thought he was choking and about to be 
This match still remains my #1. You had technical wrestling, brawling, submission holds, blood, and not to mention the blueprint for how a double turn should be done (not seen again till 16 years later with Dolph/ADR).
Just flawless all-around.

This might be the best WrestleMania match of all time and right up there with any match I can think of from any era. The cool thing about it and why I feel it was so crisp is that Bret and Austin were good friends...but if you watch the match it does feel like pure hatred. So well done. Another thing that's great about it, they had a tremendous grappling pure wrestling match at I believe Survivor Series '96 and then switched it up completely for this brawl..
I mean how many workers can have two COMPLETELY different style of matches with one another and both be five stars?
