watch serious action be taken now that Favre, the american god, has spoken up.
I believe it.
If it weren't true, he would probably have taken the Rams' offer to come back.
You know Favre would have been setting up his cell phone to text photos of his junk to all the female sportscasters across America. Easier to broadcast one text to a group than each female individually.

That's the problem, the players weren't aware of the risks. The NFL has kept a tight lid on research.

On the other hand the writing notes thing is gold :dead:

Right. Any nikka that says otherwise, never played football and has no right to speak on this topic. Nobody knows the longeterm health risks football causes as far as one's mental goes. Its never discussed at any point EVER.

You're absolutely right, but that's why this won't bring the change we'd think it would...because he chose to play well beyond what he should have. If he throws shade on the NFL, it'll be thrown right back on him; even with his popularity he's not above the NFL. White America will not allow the destruction of their beloved sport by someone who should've retired ages ago. The only change that could honestly come from this is mandatory testing after a certain number of years in the league or quarterbacks getting that red jersey treatment until or after they cross the line of scrimmage (or something like that).

I see what you're saying, but if Favre has any argument it'd have to be the NFL's efforts to make this a non-issue. Aside from that, he chose that shyt just as much as the NFL chose not to discuss the problem. :ld:

Maybe Favre is just suffering the normal throes of old age. My mom has told me she doesn't remember everything about my childhood, even though she was there. I remember certain things better than she does.

It don't take research for someone to know what's going on with their body. They knew for years boxers could get punch drunk, but running into full grown men then blacking out ain't gonna do nothing? That's an excuse. If you give them truth serum they'd be honest and say they knew. I still know people addicted to football against their own good sense. I knew at 14 it'd fukk me up.

I'm starting to accept the likelihood that football will become outlawed in my lifetime. :snoop:

Never. Going. To. Happen.

LOL, I keep hearing this and I think you guys are forgetting some things - The NFL is a 9 BILLION dollar a year business. This is America, where the only thing that matters is that $$$$$.

And lets not forget...while there are a lot of players having troubles after their career, several race car driver have actually DIED on the track, including another American Hero, Dale Earnhardt. That sport aint going nowhere either. And in boxing, the goal is to actually HURT the other guy by beating the sh!t out of him.

Don't worry, football is safe.

Not even close
not as long as boxing and MMA are around
Exactly. Your chances of dying/being a vegetable instantly are higher there and i've never heard of any thoughts of fighting being banned
Even if the NFL would cease to exist there is going to another way for people to see/play pro football, and probably a MORE violent version

nikka. I played. You know you fukking shyt up while you're playing. I'm 32 and I don't complain when I can't feel my hands or when pain still shoots down my back. I knew that price. I paid it. I moved on.

I ain't giving that man no sympathy points.
I feel you on this, and respect it but youre failing to see how the NFL made a concentrated effort to cover up exactly how devastating these head injuries are and the lasting/long term effects they bring.

Plus for all the bad cases, you got other people that did just fine mentally into old age. Deacon Jones seemed pretty sharp and he was old as shyt.

I think I need better examples of Gunslinger's memory loss than he forgot his daughter played soccer, that seems like something he'd want to forget and just found an avenue to legitimize an excuse to miss out on her boring ass games.:heh:

I bet he remembers all the words to Pants On The Ground, though.

Either he never went to them or he was drunk at them to get thru it. :heh:

But I bet if you ask him who he threw a slant route to in the 3rd quarter of week 4 in the 1993 season, he could tell you the player, down & distance. :smugfavre:

I hate that folks are acting as if there was some huge leap between boxing and football that we didn't know that players can reach goonie goo goo status
