matt stafford had a better year last than favre, elway etc. ever did

means nothing
first of all, matt stafford did not have a better year than favres best year

second of all, its just ONE year, like youve said. rodgers has had 4 consecutive years of greatness

hows that a stupid comment ? only thing favre has over rodgers is longevity so far at this point.

rodgers already had a better year than favre ever had, and has had 4 year stretch (starting with his first one of them being his FIRST full year in the league) better than any 4 year stretch favre ever had.

if rodgers can put together a few more seasons like that, itll be a wrap very soon.

so while career-wise, favre is still ahead, if rodgers can continue his dominance (and I see no reasons other than injury why he cant) hell overtake mr wranglers in a few seasons
:rudy: He was learning the nuances of the game for 3 years prior to him being a starter in 08.

He still has better statistics than Favre.

So. Cal
while you are right, the conversation is about "career" accomplishments.

As a fan and im sure more importantly as a franchise supporter:

Favre= one championship

Rodgers = One championship

Miss me with all the other stats even though if Rodgers plays like he is for another 10 years he'll easily pass every stat Favre has except for the INT's..

yeah, so ? that doesnt make my statement any less true. if anything it shows that it takes a while to become a good QB and many times its best to start your career as a backup and slowly learn your way through.

If It was his first full year in the league he would be a rookie. He wasn't. :beli:

IA with the slowly learn your way through part. Too bad most isn't trying to spend money on a high pick to sit on the pine.

I meant first full year in the league as a starter, obviously

the problem with throwing your high pick into the heat is that teams that pick high usually have a mess on oline and a lot of times mess at receivers as well. then expect a rookie to play well in the mess :to:

The Sweet Science
Stronger Arm
Better pocket awareness
Better at the bootleg
Better Play action passer

The rules arent even the same anymore look at some of the number getting put up. The truth is I got nothing but love for Rodgers and would love to see him continue to grow and do big things as a life long Packer fan I want dude to win 10 superbowls but I watched Favre his entire career and hes better.

Favre at 40 threw for 4200 yds 33 td and only 7 ints and he wasnt getting half the calls most qbs get.

:wtf:
better at the bootleg ?
WHAT ?
rodgers is one of the most mobile QBs in the game and hes the best out-of-the-pocket passer Ive seen since Montana.
you do realize rodgers has ALREADY scored more rushing TDs than favre ?

as far as stronger arm, its an irrelevant point for elite QBs.
better play action passing is debatable, and better pocket awareness also means throwing the ball AWAY when theres people coming at you or eating a sack, not throwing a pick :leostare:

The game has changed, breh. You can't just look at numbers when comparing players from different eras. Joe Montana never threw for 4,000 yards in a season but is still considered by many to be the GOAT.

total yards is not a terribly telling statistics. even then, montana had 2 seasons close to 4000 yards

look at yard per pass attempt. montana=7.5 for career, which still stands pretty well among QBs today

or tds/int ratio, which still stands VERY well. or playoff performance.

total yards passing is almost the most useless stats for evaluating a QBs performance :manny:

obviously the game has changed but then you cant compare them at all, because there is no way to compare them in vacuum.

either way, rodgers is easily the better decision-maker, which is the #1 responsibility of the QB. he is also far less dependent on his oline as he is amazing outside of pocket (has better qb rating outside of pocket). I dont really see many arguments for favre besides the fact that he played in a tougher era. arod can make every throw favre can make, and do it more accurately while spreading the ball around, and if anything you have to worry about his mobility.

But that's all subjective. You can't say "Rodgers is easily a better decision maker". The proper statement would be "I think Rodgers is a better decision maker".

Brett Favre is a 3x MVP and did it for much longer. Those are facts.

You're entitled to your opinion, just like everyone else, but beware of stating your opinions as definite facts.
