Soooo she was given 1.5 mill and 3 years after she was on government assistance after blowing it all ?! How was she even eligible for that considering her past ?
Gimme 10 times less and if I have a job I'm set for at least a decade man.

law experts chime in...i always wondered about this.

corporations can handle it but in these types of suits with regular citizens, when a defendant is ordered to pay millions of dollars yet it's obvious they do not have the money, what happens then?

I haven't read the case, it's hard to say without the details. But a lot of times you will sue that party who is culpable with another party that is also culpable or partially culpable because you know that they will have the money. It's a way of guaranteeing that you get the payment. So for example, if I work for a truck company and I hit you with my truck while performing company tasks, a smart person would sue us both jointly and separately, meaning that each party is responsible for all or part of the payment. So if I'm broke, the company would just pay you the 2.6 million. Hear, I have no idea where that 2.6 million dollar judgment came from, I really would have to read the facts of the case. I'd imagine that amount will be appealed, but they'll never get 2.6 million.

There wasn't much of a history to dig into, she was only 15 when it happened. It wasn't JUSt the state that fukked up either, Banks first lawyer pretty fukked him over. His case was winnable but she scared him and talked him into that shytty plea deal.

so im guessing these people find a way to hide their assets as much as possible?

i bet she has no real assets, the house she lives in is prob in her moms name, not sure how american law works, but up here in canada the best they could do is say seize your bank account, or your real estate. Most folks are smart and will register teh house in say their mom or pops name, offshore accounts etc.

i doubt this chick even has 100 bucks in her name

How does his mother sell her house and car to get a lawyer and then the lawyer insists Brain plead No Contest for a crime that he knows he didnt do?

I know there is conniving women out there that lie about being raped all the time, but for his lawyer to pull something like that is really upsetting to me. And unfortunately this happens all the time. The lawyers only want to get things over with as soon as possible alot of the times and dont actually care whether their client is innocent or guilty. Its a shame he had to spend time in jail for others laziness/greed.
