There are a lot of black people in Georgia. And the south in general. They may not vote in their best self interests most of the time but we don’t abandon them.

Not abandoning them at all. I'll continue to support federal laws that positively impact them down south. The voting rights act for one should be made ironclad. But there is a streak of counterproductive conservatism (both social and economical), that leaves me ambivalent to what goes on down there. It is what it is at this point with governors like Kemp and DeSantis and co.

Wherever this virus came from, it's origins seem to be Malthusian.

Thomas Malthus predicted population would be controlled through 'positive' checks on society like war, plague and famine.

And he made that assertion around the 1800s.:merchant:

I honestly dont believe brian kemp had to steal georgia to win it :yeshrug:

yes, he's a piece of shyt, and yes, he cheated. the numbers dont amount to him stealing anything, it's fukking georgia. the former confederacy
Do you realize that abrams almost won. If not for this fekkit cheating and voter suppression tactics she would’ve won.

Viruses that primarily affect the elderly don't really have a big impact on population. They weren't gonna have any more kids anyway.

Considering the elderly live significantly longer now however a virus of this scale seems set to trim global populations.

Pasting over here...

Kemp is fukked. Those communities down there were still going to church, running errands, and don't have the money or access to stay in shape/get quality healthcare. They're as at-risk as it gets.

This is why I'm not concerned about Trump "wanting" to restart the economy. He can't. Even red states with loyal Trump governors are facing reality, slowly. Mississippi is on the verge of shutting down, Florida is going to have to shut down eventually. Georgia too. Our economy is based on consumption. If people aren't buying products or services, the system suffers. Is anyone in Florida going to the dentist right now? Buying lawn mowers? Buying cars? How many people are going to restaurants right now?

Their hospitals are going to keep getting wrecked to the point where they have to shut down. This isn't sustainable. Less so in Florida where we could see hundreds of elderly people start dying daily.
