I have him top 20 all time in terms of vocal ability. Him and his brother are beasts. I went to AAMU which is right around the way from Oakwood University where he studied music.
Gospel trained musician which is why he's so monstrous musically. If you ever wonder why there's such a difference in music now vs then, it's because of the church. The church enhanced natural born talent especially in Brian's case. nikkas don't go to church these days and honestly, I can't blame them. It's awful outside of the music but I digress.
I have no idea why he is not more revered today. Noone talks about him and he doesn't get the flowers he deserved for his song writing, composition and vocal ability. He's still a beast to this day.
I guess it's because the 90s was such a explosion of talent. R. Kelly, BIIM, Tevin, Jodeci. It's crazy a guy like that could be overlooked but real ones know.
