Sonny Weems and DeMar DeRozan came to my gym once when they were on the Raptors. DeRozan was in his 2nd year in the NBA at the time. As you can expect, they were schooling everybody without breaking a sweat.

They arrived at the gym with two groupies. :russ:

My uncle Timmy was a boxer and I used to spar at times with a cat named Ricardo Williams and Dante Craig when the primaries weren't there and these were Olympians and they both wore my ass out in that ring....Dudes just be talking and have never taken a punch from someone who does that shyt for a living. I hear dudes talking about how they can beat Adrian Broner or Craig Tucker or Nuke or Raushee Warren look if you aren't a boxer you aren't beating these dudes.
There must be hundreds of videos on YouTube of morons who got that wake up call going into a boxing gym talking shyt.

The strength, the size, the timing, the skill...out class all of us.

Then weigh in the mental confidence. Those big doofy nikkas who can't dribble on TV, would run PG in a pick up game. Take the backup Center from whatever team and he would run pg on your squad trying to give you a handicap. Wouldn't take a shot in the paint and just wet your ass up. Going all between the legs dropping dimes.

I will say this...if you practice with them for like a year...you'll eventually be able to score a bucket or two. As you adapt to the speed, intensity, focus, and timing lol.

LOL I like the way he put it...he's not lying...just about any NBA player is going to wash any schoolyard ball player though...but then again, I'd wash him doing my job too... mind you he says that he's closer to Lebron than any of us are...but I''m closer to Einstein or any renown scholar than he is lol...

.I don't put much stock into this because playing basketball is his job...staying in shape, with the best nutrition, trainers, dribbling drills, and shooting 8-10 hours a day for atleast 20 years would make anyone better...plus he's up against elite talent so it's a no brainer...impo if i had the same quality training and the same amount of time to commit to it over a life time...I'd have no doubt that I'd put some work in :wow:

Outside of a McDonalds All-American or an NBA prospect...anyone else not in the NBA/NFL is pretty much going to get embarrassed.

Somebody mentioned that some of those dudes are in there purely on politics...and that's true too...there's a few guys floating around in the NBA and NFL strictly due to whatever system program they played for in college, and they aren't really "elite" compared to a lot of people who never made it...Shay Sharpe mentioned this once on Undisputed.

I think I remember Ricardo Williams...he was a good talented southpaw but got caught up with drugs?

Boxers like Williams, Broner, etc...would absolutely toy with novices. Their footwork alone is so advanced that they will constantly position themselves at the spots where it’s hard to get the right angle on them. Then of course there’s the experience it requires for beginners to get used to getting hit.

Sparring really humbles you.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Damn, so playing in the NBA basically gives you basketball sixth sense. What Scal said about regular hooper just playing the game as opposed to reading the game, body movements, etc. :wow:

In that context — it makes perfect sense. You aren’t talking to your teammates about hedging on pick and rolls, and trapping the ball handler on inbound plays and shytttttt in pickup. You’re just playing the game.

I see what he’s saying.
