Nah can't get away with this. The immediate reaction to her clearly questionable story was simply another example of how quickly black men are demonized and not given a chance to defend themselves. There's a clear incentive to other-ize black men and castigate them and until THESE types of people grapple with that, we cannot have a discussion about anything else. These people didn't just fall for a lie/fraud, they gleefully embraced it because their ideology relies on this type of division. Just as bell hooks wanted to crucify the Central Part 5.

If she had gotten away with this, an innocent black man would be in prison while she'd be doing all the black girl magic things - traveling the world, hyper consumerism, shaking her ass, lecturing people about karma, etc. And we would never hear the end of it.
