Game. Wolves lose at home to Golden State
106-98. Wolves now 5-4.
Just another loss where if healthy, the outcome is different. We got killed in the paint tonight and that was the difference. However, this team continues to fight and almost got a W in spite of all the bodies they've lost.
The good:
Derrick Williams: 23 and 7 in 37 minutes. The only silver lining to these injuries is that Adelman has no choice but to give Derrick this many minutes and he's producing now. Just give him a 30-35 min diet til Love comes back.
Shved: 22 points, 7 assists and almost won the game by himself seemingly. His jumper is suspect but he can drive to the hoop.
12 turnovers and they shot better from 3 and from the line.
Lastly, Malcolm Lee looks like he had a shytty statline, but he was +12. If Rick knew that, he wouldn't have subbed him out for Luke. He was the only one that knew how to stop the dribble penetration that killed us.
The bad:
They outscored us by 40+ in the paint. We needed Pek. The body count is catching up. Luckily they should all be back by Wednesday.
51% shooting by Golden State and outrebounded 50-34. Definitely the worst defensive output so far.
Ridnour: 9 points, 5 assists, 5 fouls, 3-11 shooting, and the game kinda died when he came back in. He was -21.
Good news though: Pek, JJ, and Roy should all be back by Wednesday against Denver. Love doesn't have the cast anymore, Josh Howard played alright tonight in place of Air Bud and most importantly, Rubio is cutting and his rehab is right where it needs to be. Contact drills to happen shortly so that's good. No setbacks for him. This week, Charlotte and Golden State did what any team could do: get 2 wins off a depleted team. I'd take em if we had that circumstance. Luckily it's only for these 2 games. All about getting healthy. This team fights though, just imagine once everyone's back.
