This was dope af.

Not exactly horror, not exactly thriller....

More creepy than anything. Creepy needs to be a new genre.

I could give this anywhere from a great 8 to a 9.5.

I dont want to spoil it, but this reminds me of another personal horror classic.

I dont know how they got that little kid to display that level of acting.

I think that's why they came up with Arthouse Horror way back when, which now mfs are tryna repurpose as "Elevated Horror" basically. Either way tho, the focus is more psychological with a subconscious approach, and it's more about the atmosphere/dread than it is straight up "scary" in traditional means & shyt.

And yeah, that lil kid creepy as fucc, they would've had to get that lil MF from round me Everytime we yelled cut, expeditiously :russ:

What movie did the ending remind you of?

Saw it last night. Really, really enjoyed it. I could tell it completely freaked the audience out, including myself. A chick a few seats from me almost vomited during a scene, ran out the theater and then came back a few minutes later lol.

Talk To Me had an older sibling dynamic to it that resonated with me and it's much stronger in this film. For me it's what really elevates the film and makes every dramatic (and horror) aspect land with flying colors. This is a brutal film but that relationship between an older brother trying to protect his little sister is beautiful. Almost teared up.

Just curious which scene was it?

There was a lot of uneasy scenes in this but nothing vomit inducing for me

I ain’t walking out of the theater until the credits roll, but I get it. The brutality was on some Evil Dead type of shyt, lol.

One of the funniest bits to me tho was the little segment beforehand where the Philippou Bros ā€œsurprisedā€ the audience on what the mystery screening is. These dudes were laughing and joking around like we weren’t about to head into the most miserable film of the year. I fukks with it. :heh:

This shyt was beyond mid, not scary whatsoever. I thought the same of talk to me though :yeshrug:
This was more a creepy drama about grief than anything else, definitely not what a lot would expect. 6.5/10 :ld:

Ok. So i wasn't the only one. Some of the gore in the movie just seemed like gore for the sake of gore without a reason behind it. Movie was not spooky, creepy, scary, just gross and not in the fun/funny way like Terrifier. The hype for the movie had my expectations high and came away disappointed. Definitely over-hyped; and I actually liked Talk To Me. I feel people are giving this a pass because of the blind actress (tho, she did do a great job) doesn't excuse the movie as a whole.

Talk To Me still on Showtime, it hasn't made the jump to Max, like the rest of A24 movies. As far as I'm concerned they can keep it.
