Above the fray.
Watched a few episodes of the first season and tuned out.,Was surprised to see that it lasted as long as it did.

Seeing dudes I grew up with become monsters after getting involved with the streets, I can see why this guy had to tap into some other shyt to play such a character.

Guys we used to play 21s with at the park and snap jokes on, turned into shooters within 2 years. Unrecognizable.

He seemed a bit out of his depth in that room…mostly by his own doing

Out of depth with Mcaully Culkin and the nikka from Star Wars:comeon:

Now he did look crazy as hell bringing this up. Those other actors quickly changed the subject on some "We dont know nothing about that devil shyt:hubie:"

At least he made the announcment he aint with that devil shyt. And that he cant keep a secret. This should keep the devils from trying him in hollywood

Hell no. The Wire is several classes above Snowfall. I stopped watching Snowfall after the first season because Franklin and his sidekick were too unbelievable to me and the show seemed too “made for tv”.

First season was a slow build. Oh well guess you missed out on a classic:respect:

And you telling me Omar was believable but Franklin and Leon aint?

The realism of the wire is vastly overated. By far they get into more detail about the game. But Snowfall overall is a better show to me.

Yeah Omar wouldn’t have lasted long in real life, but at least he walked and talked like the real thing. The main characters in Snowfall sounded like actors trying to mimic an LA inner city accent, but they couldn’t sell it well enough.

Watched snowfall all the way through. I like what they tried to do with the show, but I completely agree. I respect him as a good actor and know it’s gotta be hard as hell for him being British and definitely having to do the LA accent, but it came off really off to me. I didn’t believe he was his character meaning being slightly intimidating or most important being from Los Angeles not one single moment. And every single episode I tried to. Tried to to the same with everyone else too. Almost Every decision he made and the way he talked just seemed too forced. It was like an arcade game instead of a simulation . Just a bunch of thrown in shyt everywhere that made no sense

The person Omar was based on was in the show tho

Omar was definitely realistic in an early 90s context. Some cities were the wild west the crack era and Omar is a reflection of that time

Unless you're Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx's level talent wise it's hard to pull the accents off. Especially Black ones.
