BF is from the south, he plans on taking me to all the good spots. Will do a post before my trip to get some ideas. I’ll be in a calorie deficit just before to make sure I have room to eatI always gain 10 lbs when I go back home.
Texas alone has 4 diff styles of BBQ
But as good as Texas is
- Central Texas (what people think of these days - ideally no sauce, all smoke (post Oak))
- East Texas (sweet sauce and beef links)
- South Texas (Barbacoa)
- West Texas (Mesquite has a way diff flavor than Hickory)
Louisiana is on a whole other level of food. New Orleans, Lafayette, Baton Rouge...
But don't sleep on AL/MS/GA and the rest.
As long as you get someone to steer you right, you'll never have a bad meal in The South.
There's a reason that the South is as heavy as it is.

lol I remember this. TBF we eat most things with a knife and fork as standard. I always give the BF a knife and he never uses it.

Because they are used to eating mac and cheese from Nando’s. He’s also used to his Mom’s version. I NEVER order mac and cheese when out

If you're driving through the South...I-10 will take you to most of the big cities.
But this spot in Louisiana...
