This reads like Science Fiction. I call BS. Africans have a very tight network wherever they go and there's so many African functions in all the big cities in the UK and the US where he can mingle with other Africans, and befriend them. It was HIMSELF who sought out to not have a connection with his culture. He should stop blaming it on his "surroundings" and feeling guilty for the choices he made

And the name thing isn't even back in the day, it still happens today lol. If you don't have an Anglo Saxon sounding name, people always wanna give you a nickname
that took MANY years and a few generations to build. Any person above the age of 30 really got shyt for it. It's my generation those under 30 that are cruisin

Lmao you’re not from the uk. It is 100% true that being from Africa USED to be mocked and was considered uncool. People used to pretend they were Caribbean and were ashamed of their cultural foods and African surnames. This is indisputable. It is a known historical fact.

Tell him it's not that SERIOUS 😭😅
Did you see that JME interview he did when he was explaining why he married an oyinbo? He said there’s no black women in the UK. Man lived in fukking Tottenham. :pachaha:

They are the GOAT’s though. Phenomenal artists. Too talented for words. :wow:

Back in the day, it wasn’t cool to be African in the UK. Being African would get you clowned from teachers making fun of your name, to Caribbeans clowning you. So with that, a lot of Africans internalised self-hate & wanted to be anything but African. That’s probably the “c00n” reference.

But Skepta was the first to shake it off in UK’s entertainment industry by screaming his name “Joseph Jr. Adenuga”, “I’m Nigerian, not from St. Lucia”, & “Big bad Nigerian” in his lyrics. I guess that’s what he’s alluding to.

Dizzee?
Sade?

Lmaoooo
Acting as if he was in the backwoods of Cumbria 😂

He grew up in the blackest of ends absolutely no excuse, even if he was 'born a c00n' he would have had to travel 30 minutes to even find a white girl 😭

In Da 15th
Dizzee?
Sade?

Dizze Rascal is half-Nigerian (paternal) & half-Ghanaian (maternal) but he never claimed either in public. Most people don’t even know he’s tbh.

Sade didn’t get big in the UK (she was treated as an outlast & part of the misfits). She got big in the US.

I might need to go check again but Skepta was screaming “I’m Nigerian” from like 2003 when he dropped “Private Caller” (might need to go check again cos I was in school back then). But he just went mad with it when he dropped “Sweet Mother” in like 04/05.
