On what’s next for the company: “Now I think what’s next for us is, for most people in the world, WWE is the number one wrestling promotion. You can pick out anybody on the street, they know what WWE is. Not everybody knows what AEW is yet, and I wanna get to a point where it is super mainstream and we do more entertainment and mainstream crossovers so that they can see one of our stars and they go, ‘Oh, that person’s a wrestler from AEW,’ not just, ‘who is that person?’

Nothing wrong with being optimistic, but it's not happening. They don't have anyone capable of breaking through that barrier and achieving the kind of mainstream recognition needed to elevate their company.
They also have only been in existence for three years. Took years for the WWE mainstream stars to become household names.

I feel like it can happen, but right now AEW for me is at bare bones that needs years and years. Like they know how to make crowds get interested in Wheeler Yuta, but after that, that is the stopping point. Now I will say where AEW fails, is with people like Adam Page, they just took off the belt and now he is doing nothing.

So like...
  1. Have the AEW Crowd care about the Wrestlers (Done)
  2. Have established Main Eventers and Mid-Carders (A Heavy WIP)
  3. Have the Main Eventers reach out into other Media (Cody was doing this, but it held no returns.)
  4. Have #1 Ambassador for your Promotion (John Cena)

I feel like the only one who tried seriously to reach out to the mainstream was Cody with very minimal success, but at least he tried. Since he left, they've never really made any serious attempts to be seen outside of their shows.

Regarding points 3 and 4, feels like Jade and Britt want to be that, but unfortunately it's going to be pretty tough for a woman to be that. And Britt has that whole full-time dentist thing going on that is going to limit the ability to be that.

Feels like on the men's side they don't have anyone that would want to be that, these guys in there to be wrestlers, not anything else. Seems like MJF the only one that really has much of any career aspirations outside of wrestling (other than Jericho with his band that is)

I think as well, the mindset is, "If I want to make into Hollywood, then I will go to WWE. They have options for me."

WCW tried with Hollywood Hogan and Goldberg, but it was very minor stuff.

AEW has a long, long way to go with Mainstream. I can see it happening, but also you need a decade of it; like having a Generation watch it, and then bring their next Generation to watch it. Even then there is no promise, but AEW is still figuring itself out.
