I could have sworn she admitted it was hers and tried to run the prescribed by my doctor play?
I do believe there is a play being made here on both sides. No African nations have agreed to take a side or political position in the Russian vs Ukraine war. Is the play to get African Americans in an uproar try to turn this griener thing into a race thing in hopes we will inspire African nations to align with Ukraine which ultimately aligns them with the u.s?
Or this may simply be Russia slamming her with 9 years to create the leverage they need to make the swap and free their arms dealer.
This country is going more conservative though. Biden could upset a lot of people making that swap. Will be interested in how this will play out.
As an African I will tell you that you'd be hard-pressed ti force many African nations to go against Russia.
See, when African countries were colonies (prior to the 60's) , the US was pretty much trying to establish stronger ties with Europe, especially with the creation of the UN. So the US couldn't be too critical of Europe at the time. It was at times, but in very small forums.
Russia, on the other hand, was going crazy with their revolution and adoption of communism (with emphasis on the freedom movement).
Now bear in mind that during the Berlin Conference (When European countries split Africa for themselves) for whatever reason, out of all those European countries Russia was the one to not get a colony. Or if it did it was short-lived. So when the time came to kick Europe out of Africa, them Russian MF's was down down down for the cause.
So when the African revolutionaries started going to Russia for aid in the 50's and 60's, which included military training, selling off weapons from WWII (which no one else was gonna sell to African revolutionaries), lessons in Guerilla warfare. Russia and Cuba (and China a little bit since it was communist too) were basically the suppliers of the African revolution against Europeans. And Cuba was going even harder on the paint than Russia, So Africa's relations with these countries is pretty strong.
You can say that if it wasn't for communism (that freedom movement vein of it) some African countries may have remained colonies until today.
