I don't like the idea of special treatment for celebs. If the laws in Russia are like that than it is what it is. If the current punishment is only being pursued because she is an American celeb than fukk it help her.

It’s such a small amount, it’s possible she overlooked it (which is what she is saying)

yeah she made a mistake but the punishment doesn’t fit the crime
man, you don't play with drugs in other countries, this "well it wasn't a lot" view is you being an american and knowing how we treat it here in the states, plenty other countries ready to sit you down for a long time, especially an american they can extort money from for their freedom. i used to take weed through airports in the US all the time before it was legal in all these states, but best believe i didn't take shyt out the country, wasn't worth trying to play that game

i take issue with people being like "she shouldn't have been playing" because realistically she would've been fine without the weed, it's the weed that caused the issue and the timing that has made this into the heavy handed sentencing and spectacle.

Even playing there is a risk, you think russians are going to take kindly to knowing how much billions they lost and yet this american can just come in and make a mill and bounce?

It's not BS :hubie:

The choice is up to he individual to listen :yeshrug:
and my point is most people aren't paying attention to President's directive, especially with money on the line. And in her case, she has a job where she makes 1.5 million a year.

it's a risk but they wasn't gon arrest her just because...there's still plenty of americans over there doing their job including journalists. she been playing for them for 8 years, these countries really be second homes for these women, so i get her feeling ok going to do her job as she probably has a good support network there, but the weeeeeed in the midst of the war was just a terrible decision at a terrible time

Too much babble going on in this thread lets cut to the chase, yes she was wrong for bringing in the vape pen, yes she is being used as a political prisoner and the U.S. government should exhaust every option to rescue her and other detained americans in russia.

And that's that person's fault :yeshrug:

the amount of people here sounding like right wing twitter saying “welp she should have known better” is sad

she had less than a gram on her, to be detained this long and facing potential years of jail time is absurd regardless of the politics between the US & Russia

have some fukking sympathy
You have to do better. There's nothing right wing about saying she shouldn't have any drugs on her flying into Russia. And the timing is bad. And me and most people saying this are far from right wing.

she had 0.7 grams - she said she didn't knowingly have it one her, and considering the amount, that is believable

what are we even arguing about here? do you think think this detainment fits the "crime"?
