she had 0.7 grams - she said she didn't knowingly have it one her, and considering the amount, that is believable

what are we even arguing about here? do you think think this detainment fits the "crime"?

It doesn’t fit the crime, but again you can’t dictate the rules and terms in someone’s else country as that’s not how that shyt works.

You have to do better. There's nothing right wing about saying she shouldn't have any drugs on her flying into Russia. And the timing is bad. And me and most people saying this are far from right wing.
I don't even know why people are trying to dive deeper into this

doesn't matter if you agree with another countries laws or not when you're directly subject to that shyt and know the deal ahead of time. when you're getting wrapped up for it and pressed its the wrong time to stage a protest...

I honest to god think all that victim blaming talk is to distract from the fact that she'd be home tomorrow if the US agreed to a prisoner swap, they aren't going to due to current relations and the fact that Biden comes from the Obama tree of thought which is "fukk your prisoner swap, we don't negotiate with terrorists"

Which is a solid way to think don't get me wrong but it's just surprising no one is placing blame on the current admin over this

What blame is it to place on the current admin as she willingly went over there herself and broke the laws of another country? It's fukked up what's happening to her, but she brought that on herself by breaking the laws of another country. People can chill out with the "Well in the US talk" as everyone country isn't the US.

Russia is gonna ask for some wild shyt in any kind of prisoner swap. Wilder as the case gets more attention.

"There has been chatter in Washington and Moscow about a possible prisoner swap involving Griner and a Russian national imprisoned in the U.S. Citing confirmation from an official source, Russian state agency Tass previously reported that discussions had centered on the notorious convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout, also known as the "Merchant of Death."

Viktor Bout.... :jbhmm:

Yeahhhhh idk

Sure, but that's being reasonable. People usually don't see things that way.

Again you can't dictate the terms and how things go in other countries. People here would be bytching if another country tried doing it, so let's keep the same consistency and not be hypocrites.

the amount of people here sounding like right wing twitter saying “welp she should have known better” is sad

she had less than a gram on her, to be detained this long and facing potential years of jail time is absurd regardless of the politics between the US & Russia

have some fukking sympathy
No empathy for our own. She shouldn't have spoken against the country and protest during the national anthem.

She's getting her just fruits :mjpls:

On Feb. 17, Griner, who plays for the Phoenix Mercury, was taken into custody at Sheremetyevo International Airport
near Moscow after her arrival to play in the off-season with UMMC Ekaterinburg, a Russian women’s basketball team where Griner has been a star for the past seven years

Pretty much her only option as I understand it.
She'll get sentenced and have to sit until they work out some kind of exchange. Problem for her is I don't see U.S and Russia being on them type terms to negotiate until the Ukraine situation is resolved and who knows how many years that will be
Us and Russia just did a prisoner swap end of April

Norfeast groovin…
:snoop:

I’ve seen locked up abroad too many times

Facts, that shyt crazy. I’d feel like the biggest a$$hole if I let some stranger rap me up and convince me to be a drug mule :skip:

Crazy tho, I took a half with me to Cancun last year and I was good. It’s good to know where you going fr a place like Russia or Dubai or Japan for example don’t strike me as places you’d want to travel to with pack. :ehh:
