Depending on the situation that usually means bare minimum that the individual is barred from traveling to Russia or conducting any business there. It can also mean that accounts are seized, assets are frozen, and Russian businesses are forbidden from doing business with them.

Sometimes it's done in an attempt to pressure someone who has decision-making influence, sometimes its done as a punishment for bad behavior, and sometimes its just a publicity stunt.

A month after this meltdown, and the geopolitical impact was.....[cue crickets]

* No impact on the war situation

* No impact on sanctions

* No impact on Putin's power

* No change in US-Russia relations

Everything that matters in Russian geopolitics is continuing to proceed the same as if Griner was never arrested.

You’ve been shaking in your boots for this little bump :mjlol: :dead:

If you were smart you would’ve waited AT LEAST a few months, but you’ve been losing sleeping over your little e rep and wanting to prove me wrong. Enjoy the “w” :skip:

Breh, you bumped this shyt ten times in one week and you're to make fun of me bumping it once? :russ:

You were the one who couldn't wait, thinking over and over that "got media attention" somehow means "extreme geopolitical importance". You didn't understand that celebrities being involved doesn't have the same relevance to world leaders that it has to you.

I ran into the thread again while doing a search for something else and realized that absolutely no one was talking about this shyt and nothing at the high levels had ever happened. Which is already enough to prove my point - if the world can move on without either Biden or Putin making any concessions that affected their geopolitical objectives, then obviously your claim that it was some geopolitical boon for Putin was ignorant.

Goddamn you can't stop taking L's. First you get your information from Fox News, and second your OWN LINK says it's not a priority. :heh:

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied any meetings this week when speaking to Russian media.

"There were no meetings at the Kremlin," Peskov said, via Reuters. "I have nothing to tell you on this subject."

Rebekah Koffler, a Russian-born former U.S. intelligence officer and expert on Russia and President Vladimir Putin, suggested any potential meetings with Richardson likely would not have included high-ranking officials at this time with Putin’s focus being on the war in Ukraine.

"If such a visit did happen, the process is probably in the very early stages and doesn't involve high-level officials in the Kremlin," she told Fox News Digital. "Regardless, Putin is facing serious challenges in Ukraine now and has bigger fish to fry. He is heading out to meet with China’s Xi Jinping in Samarkand at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It’s unlikely that he would be approving any exchanges at this time."

Your own link saying that the issue is geopolitically insignificant. :laff:
