The guy was getting out in 6 years…if you can make the deal now you do it. I don’t understand why it’s so complicated? People are acting like we’re giving up someone on a life sentence.

We were literally going to let him go in 6 years. There would be little to no outcry when that happened, guarantee.

And that's just it, nobody has to look any further, the guy was getting out in 6 years, BG was gonna be down for 9. US actually won this trade, considering that Russia had absolutely zero motivation to do this right now, with the war going. If anybody actually opposed to this, looked at it logically, they would clearly see that they only getting the other prisoners back when Russia decides they want to give them back. How can this not be a win when we are the main backers of Ukrainian efforts in the war, directly trying to weaken Russia, and still were able to get a high profile, railroaded celebrity back for someone that was going to be released in 6 years anyway?

Anyways. People wanted Britney freed, well they got it done. It just took time like most diplomatic issues that don't happen overnight. But let this warning to my American Brothers and Sisters. You can not act up overseas. Their laws are not American laws. You do not have the same constitutional rights overseas that you do in the States and can get locked up rather easy. I've seen to many episodes of "Locked up Abroad", and have friends who got in trouble overseas and even went to foreign jails. They got lucky and eventually got out. People need to really use this experience as a lesson.
