To deny that black male privilege exists is to deny that male privilege exists. Male privilege relies on actions and attitudes that come at the expense of women. When we look at race; our privilege, as black men, results from actions and attitudes that come at the expense of black women. I would also like to make the point that you can acknowledge the historical atrocities, and the current issues of racism that we have to deal with, as black men, and ALSO acknowledge the privilege we get from being men in a patriarchal society (in relation to black women).
