He could be in Brooklyn right now, but he made a commitment to stay with the Magic for another year.

You're not a slave to a team when you opt-in to the contract.

so they suppoased to just let him walk in the offseason?....Orlando obviously wasnt interested in entertaining NJ at the time..they suppoased to trade him to a team and get minimum value just because he wants to play there?..lol, its never worked like that

Doesn't mean anything, because in that situation he still could have exercised his ETO and either worked out a S&T with one of those teams or went to Brooklyn as a free agent.

He screwed himself over because HE made a stupid decision. That wasn't blackmailing him, that was just smart business on the part of Orlando and dumb business on Dwight's part.

Dwight had ALL the leverage in that situation last season and now he has minimal and he's gonna take an L in one way or another.

Well it is selfish in that his motivation is to benefit himself. Nothing wrong with being selfish because the only person who is gonna look out for you is you. I don't have an issue with the selfish part I have an issue with the stupid part. He's counting on Orlando to just bend over and give him what he wants (Brooklyn and max money). It's quite a gamble and if they trade him to Brooklyn I can't knock the hustle but if they don't and boy do I hope they don't then .

Getting traded had nothing to do with him opting in.

This is on Dwight. The 2 biggest parties being inconvenienced are the team he's on now and the team he wants to join, all cuz Dwight can't think for himself.

same shyt might be getting said by some people but the situations are very different.

Dwight did this shyt to himself.

Dwight is the one who admittedly kept going back and forth about what he wanted to do.

Dwight is the one who signed away his Early termination option.

Nobody is screwing him over or doing him dirty in this situation. HE locked himself into a contract for another year. Unless he has evidence that the Magic Organization put a gun to his head and made him sign away his ETO dude has no right to complain about anything.

And Lebron was a free agent..He didn't sign a one year extension and then turn around and say he wants to be traded before the start of the next season.

The Nets don't have the assets to get Dwight via trade (well they do but it's nothing Orlando wants). Dwight is either gonna have to wait it out in Orlando play the next season somewhere out West.
