Bench him.
Draft another QB or try to pick off a decent-but-not-great bench guy off another team (Brissett?)
Then cut Wilson next year -- either at the end of the season or mid-year. Whenever the cap hit is less horrible.

It's not going to make the Broncos a powerhouse. But with that defense all you need is a guy to keep you in the hunt. Wilson can't even do that right now.

If they were going to do that, then they would have been better off keeping Locke or checkdown Teddy. They're stuck with him for the next few years as the cap hit is too large. The best thing they can hope for if he doesn't play well is that they can offload him to someone else while eating some of the contract as well.

The funny part about it is that Denver was complaining about Fangio and QB situation for all those years when their replacement was even worse than what they previously had.

Yeah, Hackett was the problem.

Head coach 1st year on the job. His starting RB goes down for the year (Javonte Williams). His backup RB (Melvin Gordon) can't go 2 weeks without fumbling the football. One of your more reliable WRs gets hurt before the year even begins (Tim Patrick).

You have one of the worst quarterbacks in football this season who holds onto the football WAY, WAY too long.

If anyone should be fired it's their GM George Paton who made arguably the worst NFL trade of the last 20 years.

This Denver pass defense has been elite for most of the season. If they had even a moderate quarterback -- I'm talking Matthew Stafford or even Andy Dalton...this team is in the playoff hunt.

That's how awful Russell Wilson has been.

The weirdest narrative this year has been people ganging up on Russ because of Marshawn and Sherman being members of the media.

Russ brought a lot of the criticism on himself when he passive aggressively threw at the Seahawks for supposedly holding him back months ago. He looks slower and not as agile as he used to be and that aspect isn't necessarily on Hackett. For years, he's been getting the benefit of a doubt where people were placing more of the blame on Carroll than Russ himself, so this year is vindication on Carroll and the Seahawks as a whole even if they don't make the playoffs.

Russ deserves blame for what's transpired just as much as everyone else in that organization.

That's fine. Roast him for the passive aggressive shyt, but the offensive performance was on Hackett. Hackett had Gordon starting over their best RB. Hackett was calling deep routes with a shytty o-line. At one point they took playcalling away from Hackett.....I know all of this because I had Jeudy on my fantasy team. I was paying attention to that team.

There's other folks this year that have been catching hell when they shouldn't either that has been getting on my nerves. Leftwich is fine. Brady is DOG shyt this year. It's nuts that people think Leftwich isn't calling the exact plays Brady wants. The offense worked last year because Arians was willing to tell Brady to fukk himself and Brady got him fired. Lamar is getting cooked because Roman's offense can't evolve along with having UPS delivery men as WR. Ain't nobody cooking Roman until after Lamar got hurt. Ain't no one cooking their front office at all......It's extra annoying because it's black men getting scapegoated.
