KUSA—Derek Wolfe said he didn’t mean anything by his absence from the Denver Broncos’ trip Monday to the White House.
“
I just had a lot of stuff going on, things to do,” Wolfe said as he walked off the practice field following the Broncos’ minicamp session Wednesday.
So he wasn’t making a political statement or had a problem with President Barack Obama?
“No, it was nothing like that,” Wolfe said.
The defensive end was a big reason why the Broncos were honored at the White House by Obama. Wolfe had all 8.0 of his 8.0 sacks last season in the final 10 games, including 2.5 in three postseason games.
The Broncos rewarded Wolfe with a four-year, $36.7 million contract extension in January.
