Report: Broncos 'not all that interested' in Tony Romo
Perhaps there's something to this Trevor Siemian-Paxton Lynch competition, after all.
With the former essentially making the Pro Bowl, and the latter currently training with a quarterbacks coach, the Denver Broncos are "not all that interested" in veteran Tony Romo, per Mike Klis of 9News.
ESPN's Adam Schefter last week similarly reported that Denver is not "in play" for Romo, who's expected to be unloaded this offseason by the Dallas Cowboys.
But speculation mounted when the gunslinger was spotted with John Elway at a victory party for Donald Trump, setting the internet aflame. Romo reportedly named the Broncos as his preferred landing spot, and rubbing elbows with Elway was interpreted as progress toward a Mile High marriage.

The major speed bump -- perhaps the only speed bump -- are the financials. As it stands now, Romo carries an astronomical $24.7 million salary cap number for 2017. That's much too rich for Denver's blood, even though they'll have enough space to absorb another big contract.
There have been rumblings that Dallas, who've handed the franchise reigns to Dak Prescott, may simply bite the bullet and release Romo. Other rumors have floated the idea of Romo (37 in April) announcing his retirement after 14 seasons.
Despite major uncertainty at the position, and the offseason just entering the infancy stage, the Broncos appear inclined to ride it out with their young, inexpensive quarterbacks. And may the best man win.
