I gotta disagree. If you watched this game WR was not the problem. Peyton doesn't need a first round talent and wideout especially as his third receiving option. The problem with drafting WR, is historically the WR position takes the longest to see real development and the clock is ticking for this team. They need to go DB, LB, OL even if a WR is BPA. Peyton has already shown he can work magic with the Brandon Stockley''s (4th round pick), Austin Collie (4th round pick), and Pierre Garcon (6th round pick). the production that he'll get out of a WR in the 1st/2nd as his 3rd WR threat isn't much different than what he'll get from a 4th/5th rounder. That's difference between Manning, Brees, Brady and other QBs. they don't need to be loaded with 1st round talent at every WR/RB position
true, he and other top qbs can work with whomever to give you stats and wins, but that dont mean you gonna win a sb with that...manning, brady, brees, nor rodgers have won with just anybody out there....i watched the game, their d and online werent the problem yesterday...it was lack of offensive adjustments (they shouldve run the ball more) and any wr having the balls to go get it short and/or over the middle...that bubble screen shyt wasnt working and they shouldve realized that after the 2nd drive; yet no wr was willing to go cross the middle which was open for 5-10 yds...decker was a deep threat only...j thomas, deep threat....d thomas, bubble screen & deep threat....the only wr they got that was willing to do anything in the middle or short was wes, but he wasnt gonna get it done cause of size...
dont get me wrong, it's always good to stockpile front 7 and oline, but when you trying to win now with an aging qb, and your team revolves around your offense, you better go get him weapons...losing decker and not replacing him would hurt more then you think, and would seriously hurt their chances at the sb...if they cant get a top db, and one of the top wrs slides to them, they better jump on it...
